It's gonna be a fight

It really will, I'm going to have to fight with my self constantly to get this show on stage. I had a nightmare about it last night. A nightmare. WTH.
I dreamed that we started rehearsals, and somehow full scenes had been added without anyone telling me and I was totally unprepared to rehearse with my actors. I didn't even know who'd been cast as which characters. So, I started to rehearse the songs, and it just DIDN'T go well. I'm so glad it was a dream, but it really got me thinking, I'll have to be super prepared for each rehearsal with things I want to work on.
That also got me thinking: How the heck am I going to afford an apartment that isn't on campus AND find time to rehearse? It's not like I can skip rehearsal.

Well drat.

This oughta be interesting to say the least. ON THE BRIGHTSIDE, I have a new tablet pen courtesy of my wonderful father! SO: Less of Wednesday is back in business :3

"Can't" is a horrible word.

I can't do this.

I can't put on a show starting from nothing, can I? I can't take this amazing piece of music and change it! But, that's what it needs to make it on the stage, right? How the HELL am I going to do this and what EVER made me think I could pull this off? My friends, my teachers, my directing class, my imagination... I don't know, but who the hell do I think I am, Baz Luhrmann? Seriously. I have no idea why I ever told myself this could work, but SOMEHOW mark my words, it'll be on stage. This could be one of the biggest mistakes of my life, and it might be the start of something great. Who am I kidding? I'm scared shitless. (Pardon my french.) I can't believe I'm doing this. But so far, I've got a set designer, costume designer, lighting designer, (AMAZING) stage manager, composer, and ME. Well, this might just work. Maybe.

Who knows.

Details details diddly do

So I felt like telling more details about Less of Wednesday, since there are only three pages up so far I feel bad. I know no one is really following it, but I'll feel better if I get SOMETHING out here. So: A little character briefing for the two knuckleheads that have been introduced so far.

PHINEAS: He's the guy with the mohawk and the goofy grin. He's pretty much a TOTAL blast to draw btw. He's not easily annoyed and tends to go with the flow. He freakin' LOVES Red Vines. Don't ask why, he just does. People are usually a little put off by him just for the fact that he's so colorful and enthusiastic, but he just breezes on by whether they like him or not. He's competitive and can hold his own in a fight, but he isn't very violent, unless you come between him and his Red Vines. Watch out.

MARCO: This guy is still trying to figure out where he fits into the grand scheme of things. He blends in to the background pretty easily, and hates attracting undue attention. His most recent "real" job was working for a pet magazine as an assistant, doing grunt work like transcribing and gophering. He didn't like it very much, but he's into journalism, so he figures you've got to start somewhere. Why he ever listened to Phineas and left his job to chase down invisible combustible critters (yeah we haven't gotten to the combustible part yet but I can't wait to show you!) is beyond him, but it's too late to turn back now.

Waiting Game

I'm impatient. I'm horribly impatient and stubborn and PFFFFT. What am I waiting on? An email from the band who wrote the show I'm doing. I feel bad for getting so impatient because I know they've got a lot going on, they're quite busy I'm sure. As a director though, I really need to hear from them about possibly meeting up to talk about certain things and get written permission to perform it since we're taking A LOT of liberties with this...

Sorry for the random useless details. Anyways. Working on a commission for a local attorney, doing a family tree for her, and I'm SO far behind it's not even funny so I'm going to be a good little art monkey and get to that.

First time, be gentle

So, my first blog. This is fun.

Well, I guess I'll start off with a little about what I'm going to focus on here: for those who don't know me, I'm an artist among other things, and this past summer, I had the crazy idea to start a webcomic. Since then, I've finished three pages: GO ME! Yeah, three pages in six months? Not so impressive. But to my credit, I've managed three jobs plus five classes, SO TAKE THAT.
I'm kind of sad, because I can't work on it again until after Christmas, my pen for my tablet has crossed the Jordan, may she rest in peace. But I do have another distraction: Broken Bride. If you have never heard of it, you are REALLY missing out. I'm adapting the rock opera for the stage with the help of some amazing friends. By the way, I've never directed a full production before, so I'm WAY in over my head, but it's in the most wonderful way. I feel like I can do this, thanks to my directing class and the wonderful human being who taught us, she is amazing and such a good teacher.
Anyways, that's about the gist of it. More details to come! For now, I bid you farewell.
